IRAQI CHRISTIANS PERSECUTED

Since the U.S. led invasion in 2003, Iraq’s Christian minority has faced constant persecution, including dozens of church bombings, executions, kidnappings and forced expulsions, devastating some communities and reducing the overall Christian population by at least 25 percent. In the city of Kirkuk, 10,000 Catholics, Orthodox and Protestant Christians have fled. In Basra, 2000 Christians left because of militia Muslim attacks. Likewise Baghdad has seen thousands of Christians fleeing the country. The Iraqi security officials said they are taking measures to protect Christians.
