More Foreign Born Priests

the Georgetown University based Center for research in the Apostolate
says that approximately one quarter of priests ordained for the United States
were born outside the U.S., with the largest numbers coming from Mexico,
Vietnam, Poland and the Philippines.
According to their statistics, the ordination class of 2009 claims 11%
Asian born men; 6% are from Vietnam, and 2% are from the Philippines.
The number of Foreign Born Priests is growing steadily and are more
conservative than their predecessors.
Their statistics also reveal that young women joining a religious order
are twice as likely to join an order where wearing a religious habit is demanded.

It is refreshing to hear that women are more likely to join a religious order that wear a habit than those who do not.
In discussing this with a nun friend , she stated that the would not like to go back to wearing a habit.
I believe there is something special inviting and reverent in the wearing of a habit. Let’s hope this custom will change and more nuns will go back to wearing habits.
God blessyou. Thank you for this opportunity to respond

I believe a moderate habit is a real sign of the religious order when they are in an official role.
